Meet Cristen Brossok, LCSW
(she/her)
Owner & Psychotherapist
I am a queer trauma therapist with a specific focus on the LGBTQIA2+ populations. My experience as a trauma survivor and my own sexuality journey led me to a career in social work and psychotherapy, and to opening Honeycomb Psychotherapy and Consultation.
I strive to co-create a space that is anti-oppressive, harm reductionist, and empowering. I value authenticity, transparency, and radical ways of thinking. Ultimately, my goal is to offer a place where you learn to befriend your difficult emotions, practice bravery in the face of your struggles, and get connected to what really matters in your life. I believe that healing comes not from casting our difficult parts aside, but from learning to accept all of our intricacies.
Prior to entering private practice in 2019, I worked in various capacities in community mental health and residential mental health. I was a Diverse Learners teacher in Chicago Public Schools prior to my career in Social Work.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy collecting houseplants, cooking new vegan recipes, playing on my queer kickball league, spending time with chosen family, and watching trashy reality television. I am also a Chicago-based Burlesque performer and enjoy opportunities for creative expression.
