Meet Cristen Brossok, LCSW
(she/her)
Owner & Psychotherapist
I am a queer trauma therapist with a specific focus on the LGBTQIA2+ populations. My experience as a trauma survivor and my own sexuality journey led me to a career in social work and psychotherapy, and to opening Honeycomb Psychotherapy and Consultation.
I strive to co-create a space that is anti-oppressive, harm reductionist, and empowering. I value authenticity, transparency, and radical ways of thinking. Ultimately, my goal is to offer where you learn to befriend your difficult emotions, practice bravery in the face of your struggles, and get connected to what really matters in your life. I believe that healing comes not from casting our difficult parts aside, but from learning to accept all of our intricacies.
Prior to entering private practice in 2019, I worked in various capacities in community mental health and residential mental health. I was a Diverse Learners teacher in Chicago Public Schools prior to my career in Social Work.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy collecting houseplants, cooking new vegan recipes, playing on my queer kickball league, spending time with chosen family, finding new creative hobbies, and watching trashy reality television. I am also a Burlesque performer and enjoy opportunities for creative expression.
